First Image from the Set of the Nightmare on Elm Street Redux
Here we are again. It's almost too easy. Anyway, the first picture from the set of Platinum Dunes' reboot of the A Nightmare on Elm Street series has surfaced online, and you'll never guess who it is of!
Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are once again leaning on a police car. Deja vu, anyone? Really, guys? Really? Whatever. In any event the picture surfaced over on Bloody Disgusting's Platinum Dunes blog along with a set report that details the producers' first look at Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy. Click the link to dig it, and peep the picture below. Look for A Nightmare on Elm Street on April 16, 2010.

When it first premiered, I was as big a fan of "Medium" as anyone. Its balanced portrayal of psychic/medium Allison DuBois' professional and personal lives was rich and rewarding. But it started losing me in later seasons, mostly due to the fact that it began to feel a little too familiar week after week.

Most these damn fanboys have no Idea what a good movie is and well alls they awatn to do is bitch bitch bitch about the about one fucking picture.

Actually we DO have an idea of what a good horror movie is. That's why we come down on these PD flicks because they are cookie-cutter remakes done by people who couldn't give a shit about the source material. (F13, the Hitcher, etc)
Platinum Dunes should have a clogged toilet as their logo because every one of their movies is the cinematic equivalent of diarrhea.

Thats your opinion glad to see you have one. I think we would be better off not coming into contact with on another. Because I have my opinion and you have yours.

Yeah, enough bitching about one fucking picture... I mean, who the hell cares about one... lousy... picture?

Holy Shit isn't that Robocops OCP cruiser redressed for Springwood? Oh yeah if you notice there's no wire mesh barrier between the front of the squad car and the back seat.

Ha-ha!! I think these guys must listen to Dinner for Fiends.
Either that or they're completely oblivious douchebags.
Submitted by Cash Bailey on Tue, 05/19/2009 - 12:58pm.
Completely oblivious and RICH douchebags, good sir.
I can only imagine how terrible this "new" Nightmare is going to be. The only question I have is how underground tunnels play into it because YOU KNOW they'll have some in this movie.
Submitted by Rottenjesus on Tue, 05/19/2009 - 4:01pm.
Keep an open mind, man. Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are rich douchebags, but if you go into the movie wanting to hate it, then you'll hate it even more than you would if you went into it with your regular mentality.
I saw this over at B-D first, and the second I saw it I thought "Uncle Creepy is going to have a stroke". Haha.

I'm keeping an open mind on the basis of the first Chainsaw remake. But it's hard, I tell you -- nothing since from Platinum Dunes has come even close to being as good.
Submitted by The Woman In Black on Tue, 05/19/2009 - 5:18pm.
Ugh really? The TCM remake was such a piece of shit and the prequel was just a remake of the remake. I don't know why people keep creaming over that flick.
Submitted by Terminal on Wed, 05/20/2009 - 1:53am.
I'm far from creaming over it -- just saying that of all the PD films, it's the best imo. Which isn't saying much I grant you.

I kept an open mind on Friday the 13th and almost ended up in therapy.
Submitted by Uncle Creepy on Tue, 05/19/2009 - 5:00pm.
But it STILL beats TCM 03 any day, so for that I give it credit.
Submitted by Terminal on Wed, 05/20/2009 - 2:01am.
I couldn't disagree more. Even as misguided as the Chainsaw remake was, it was far more entertaining to me than F13 was. Hell, I liked The Amityville remake better than f13!
Submitted by Uncle Creepy on Wed, 05/20/2009 - 2:16am.
Hah, good sir! Hah! Surely you jest.
Submitted by Terminal on Wed, 05/20/2009 - 2:40am.
Friday the 13th was the best See No Evil remake/ripoff ever.
Submitted by Rob on Tue, 05/19/2009 - 5:15pm.
When SEE NO EVIL is actually better than a big budgeted F13 remake then you've done something horribly wrong.
Why should I keep an open mind on this? PD has done nothing to solicit interest or support from me and I don't see that changing in the near future.
"Fuck Platinum Dunes....SQUARED!" to quote a classic DFF.
Submitted by Rottenjesus on Tue, 05/19/2009 - 5:33pm.
See No Evil was garbage, F13 was slightly above it.
Submitted by Terminal on Wed, 05/20/2009 - 1:53am.
I disagree. I thought See No Evil was a fun little slasher movie with far more appeal than all of the PD remakes. Friday the 13th severely borrowed elements from it, as Creepy pointed out on the DFF, which is probably why I liked Friday the 13th as much as I did.

I don't know if you fan boys realzie this. But the reason Jason even started killing was to avenge his mother death.
Submitted by Kane86 on Wed, 05/20/2009 - 11:31am.
That's a given, but I'm not talking about the mother issues in terms of the similarities, I'm more talking about Jason holding Whitney hostage for 6 weeks, which you can tell they were at least inspire by Jacob abducting Kira in See No Evil.
Submitted by Rob on Wed, 05/20/2009 - 11:45am.
Uhh She looked like his mother?
Lets not forget Jason was mentally retarded.
I am going to get shot for saying this but I don't care.
I am gald these movies are getting made because no matter waht you do its the same thing. THe Franchises are dying here is way to breath life into them. I am sorry it takes place in 2009 not 1981 like all the fan boys want. But if you want a shot for shot remake go watch the Omen or somehing or better yet go watch the old thing. Noone is forcing any of you to watch these movies.
Submitted by Kane86 on Wed, 05/20/2009 - 12:11pm.
I don't buy the mother thing at all, and I doubt that was why Fuller and Form threw that in there, but that's not the point.
And why are you talking like I've been venting about it not being a shot-for-shot remake? Since I really haven't, I was just stating the obvious similarities between the F13 remake and See No Evil. I really don't give a crap about any of the original films, and hold the remake, despite its flaws, above all of the ones I've seen except Jason X, which was just 90 minutes of retarded fun.
Submitted by Rob on Wed, 05/20/2009 - 12:23pm.
Man go watch a bootleg copy of the movie.
When he looks at the locket the picture looks just like her.
Submitted by Kane86 on Wed, 05/20/2009 - 12:34pm.
And as Foy said on the Dinner for Fiends, the woman in the locket looks nothing like the woman in the flashback, and doesn't look like she'd age into the woman in the flashback.
Submitted by Rob on Wed, 05/20/2009 - 1:00pm.
Look I am not going to argue with you. Second FOy must have been drunk when he watched it because it looked jsut like her. They took a picture of her made it look old and problem solved.
Submitted by Kane86 on Wed, 05/20/2009 - 3:37pm.
There was an F13 remake? See... I've forgotten about it already!
Submitted by PelusaMG on Tue, 05/19/2009 - 8:54pm.
History is repeating itself, first in this picture and eventually in the quality of this flick. F13 '09 was filth and I expect no less from this.
