The 2012 SXSW Film Conference and Festival began Friday, March 9th, and already our man on the scene, Drew Tinnin, has sent in reviews for two of the hottest films at the fest: The Cabin in the Woods and [REC] 3: Genesis. How did they rate? Read on to get the lowdown.
First up is The Cabin in the Woods (review here), about which Drew says, “There are certain scenes in The Cabin in the Woods that are so gloriously set up and executed that you’re likely to remember the reason why you fell in love with horror movies in the first place.” Nice!
Then comes [REC] 3: Genesis (review here), “a fairly straightforward Z apocalypse tale rife with gory kills involving chainsaws and industrial salsa blenders.”
