Mark Hamill Guest Stars in WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS Season 2

The second season of FX’s What We Do in the Shadows series will hit on Wednesday, April 15. It will stream on Hulu the next day. And today we hear from series creator Jermaine Clement that Mark Hamill will be a “surprise” guest star in season 2.

No word on who Hamill will be portraying, or in what episode but Clement also revealed to Variety that season 2 will add new supernatural characters such as ghosts and witches … but will lose Booksmart actress Beanie Feldstein. Clement says Feldstein leaving is “a little disappointing” as she was planned to be a big character

Based on the feature film of the same name from Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi, What We Do in the Shadows is a documentary-style look into the daily (or rather, nightly) lives of four vampires who’ve “lived” together for hundreds of years in Staten Island. After an unexpected visit from their dark lord and leader, the vampires are reminded of what they were initially tasked with upon their arrival in New York City over a century ago — total and complete domination of the New World. But what exactly is the best way to go about achieving said domination? A vérité camera crew follows along as the vampires set out to answer this query.

The series was created by Jemaine Clement and stars Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, Harvey Guillén, and Mark Proksch. Clement and Waititi are executive producers along with Paul Simms, Scott Rudin, Garrett Basch, and Eli Bush.

The show currently sports a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: Delightfully absurd and ridiculously fun, What We Do in the Shadows expands on the film’s vampiric lore and finds fresh perspective in its charming, off-kilter cast to create a mockumentary series worth sinking your teeth into.
