Director Michael J. Bassett’s Blog
With three video games releasing this month, the big question fans of the Silent Hill franchise have is, “Where the hell is the new movie?” Director Michael J. Bassett took to his blog recently with an answer.
“I have lots of pictures, interviews, trailers, even a finished movie,” says Bassett, “but the people who have invested their money in making this film have chosen, rightly or wrongly, to hold back the release of anything until they have a release schedule for the film they’re happy with. It is their choice, and even as it’s frustrating as hell for me, I respect that this is how they wish to play it.”
From our perspective, as long as the flick itself is worth the wait, then take your time. We’ll have plenty of digital ashy goodness in video game land to weed through for at least several months!
Bassett directs the sequel that stars Adelaide Clemens, Kit Harington, Sean Bean, Radha Mitchell, Deborah Kara Unger, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Malcolm McDowell.
Look for it hopefully sometime in 2012 from Lionsgate.
