Night Train - Ride Leelee Sobieski's Caboose in July
All aboard the Night Train. Next stop: a fortune in diamonds and a mysterious Pandora's box that brings out the murderous side in people. Danny Glover will be your conductor. You will be sharing a car with Leelee Sobieski and Steve Zahn. We'll even throw in Richard O'Brien in drag for free. The DVD leaves the station this July.
Night Train is writer/director Brian King's Twilight Zone-ish tale of three strangers that meet aboard a Polar Express-like train on one fateful night. Danny Glover is the train's conductor, Leelee Sobieski is a potentially lethal med student, and Steve Zahn is a scheming fast-talking salesman. When a nameless passenger dies in their car, Zahn and Sobieski discover he was carrying a box containing a fortune in diamonds and, together, they plot to dispose of the man's body and keep the box's contents for themselves. All manner of paranoia, double-crosses, murder, and Richard O'Brien in drag follows. Little do any of them know that there may be something more sinister to this box than any of them suspect.
When I reviewed Night Train back in February, I found it to be a perfectly acceptable but in no way exceptional thriller. You'll get your chance to board the Night Train when National Entertainment Media releases the film to DVD and Blu-Ray on July 7th. Extras will include a making-of feature, interviews with the cast and crew, and a photo gallery.

I thought the Canadian rockies train ride I went on last winter during my family vacation was more thrilling than this movie.
