Sasquatch Mountain Trailer Spotted

A little over a week ago (here to be exact), I first reported on how Lance Henriksen’s latest foray into cinematic squatchdom, Devil on the Mountain, was headed to the Sci-Fi Channel under the new (and allegedly improved) title of Sasquatch Mountain. For those in need of a refresher, a group of big city bank robbers must join forces with some rural law enforcement types and a shotgun-toting Henriksen when they all find themselves holed up on a mountain getting picked off by the one and only Sasquatch. I’m not exactly sure why the big hairy one has chosen to go all homicidal this time out, but we are talking about Bigfoot; I’m sure he has his reasons. In addition to Henriksen, the film also stars Cerina Vincent, Craig Wasson, Michael Worth, Rance Howard, and Tim Thomerson and was directed by Stephen R. Monroe of It Waits fame.
Got an email shortly after from Sasquatch Mountain co-star Michael Worth informing me that a trailer for the film is currently online, and I must say that this one doesn’t look too shabby at all. I’m especially intrigued by the decision to set much of it during daylight hours. I guess I’m just so used to homicidal Sasquatch in movies being nocturnal. Worth also sent along this rather amusing photo dubbed “Reservoir Apes” of himself and the other actors playing the bank thieves that wear ape masks when committing their big robbery. Criminals in monkey masks that then get killed off by Bigfoot; that’s karma, folks.
Check out the trailer right here, and then check out the movie when it premieres on the Sci-Fi Channel on Saturday, September 9th, at 9/8 Central followed by a midnight replay. Mr. Worth has let me know that he’ll be sending a screener my way so, hopefully, I’ll soon be able to tell you whether or not Sasquatch Mountain is WORTH your time.
