“The Swamp is my world
It is who I am… It is what I am
I was once a man
I know the evil that men do
Do not bring your evil here, I warn you
Beware the wrath of… Swamp Thing”
Now there’s a TV show intro I haven’t heard in a long time.
Got a snippet of news here that should bring much joy to many of the patrons of the message board where the topic of this particular program has come up repeatedly. Oh, and many of you reading not members of the forum might also be thrilled too.
Vivendi Visual Entertainment will be releasing “Swamp Thing: The Complete First Season” on January 22, 2008. For those unfamiliar, the USA Network aired a half-hour series from 1990-1993 continuing the adventures of DC Comics’ Swamp Thing, loosely based on the two live-action Swamp Thing movies. Well, based more on the Wes Craven original rather than the cornier Jim Wynorski/Heather Locklear follow-up.
Though it only lasted three seasons, the show has gone on to garner a bit of a cult following. Vivendi must be hoping that cult following has deep pockets since they’re looking to charge $39.99 for 13 half-hour episodes. That seems a tad steep to me. Where’s Swampy to declare “Do not bring your inflation here!”
