Here’s a new take on paranormal hunts: Patrick Burns and his wife, Marley Gibson, are ghost hunters and do their work with a live audience in attendance. The location of their next hunt is a renovated theater in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Venkman, Stantz and Spengler would be proud.
Patrick Burns hosts TruTV’s “Haunting Evidence” and is a recurring judge on “Paranormal Challenge” on the Travel Channel, and Marley Gibson is a writer of young adult paranormal fiction. Together they’ve created GhoStock, live-action ghost hunting.

They say theaters hold the essence of those who’ve performed there… Join Patrick Burns with his wife, Marley Gibson, on March 3, 2012, as they investigate the historic State Theater in Elizabethtown, KY.
The doors to the historic State Theater will be opened for the GhoStock exploration and investigation on Saturday night. The arc-deco style theater opened its doors in 1942 and was the chief entertainment complex for the city until it closed in 1982. In its days of operation, the theater saw much segregation with white and black patrons seated in separate areas, entering through different doors, and purchasing tickets in segregated groups. In 2009 the historic structure was substantially revitalized back to its 1940s charm. As with so many old theaters, stories of spirits and ghosts from the past run rampant here. A portion of your ticket proceeds benefit the State Theater.
GhoStock Schedule
8:00 – 9:00 p.m. – Registration and light refreshments
9:00 – 10:00 p.m. – Welcome/brief lectures/info on location
10:00 p.m – 1:00 a.m. – Investigate building and property
Please bring your own ghost hunting equipment including digital cameras, video recorders, digital voice recorders, or anything else you’d like to try out. The evening will wrap up at 1:00 a.m.
