EXCL: Haunting in Connecticut Director Talks Rating and DVD

Got a chance to sit down with the director of “>The Haunting in Connecticut, Peter Cornwell, today to get the skinny on the movie and uncovered some juicy things about the film’s rating and eventual home video release.

“We submitted it [to the MPAA] a couple of times to get a PG-13 rating,” Cornwell tells Dread. “As a result we had to come up with cleverer ways of getting around some scenes that ended up improving the film anyway. When talking about the unrated version, yeah, it’s a bit more graphic and has a bit more blood, but I don’t think it really makes it any scarier. We pushed it as far as we can for PG-13. I think some people are going to be surprised that we put in what we did. You will absolutely be seeing the unrated version on DVD though.

Look for the whole interview coming soon, and be sure to check out The Haunting in Connecticut in theatres on March 27, 2009.
