Here’s a surprise! Cinéma vérité style films rake in mucho box office dollars, and now one of the Wayans brothers want to spoof them! Who would have thunk it?!?!

According to Variety, Essence Atkins is set to star opposite Marlon Wayans in the indie Smart Ass, which Wayans will direct with Mike Tiddes.

The film is described as a spoof of a various found-footage pics like Paranormal Activity and The Devil Inside Me. Rick Alvarez and Lisa Blum are producing the pic, which is currently filming in L.A.

Expect more on this one soon including various pot references, lots of shaky cam, and gratuitous usage of the dreaded “N” word, all of which will come much to the chagrin of Bill Cosby.
