Widely regarded as the worst film ever made, the Ed Wood classic Plan 9 from Outer Space is on its way to Blu-ray so you can see all those cardboard sets come to life in glorious 1080p!

Look for the flick starring Bela Lugosi, Gregory Walcott, Tom Keene, Mona McKinnon, Duke Moore, and Carl Anthony in stores on March 6, 2012 from Legend Films. No word yet on special features if any at all.

“This is it! The most popular Atomic Age cult film of the twentieth century. Winner of two Golden Turkey Awards for Worst Picture and Worst Director of All Time, the immortal Edward D. Wood, Jr.! It’s all here, the not-so-special effects, aliens in skating skirts zooming around in string-powered flying saucers to implement the ninth plan of Earth’s conquest (the first eight failed) with an army of zombies (well, three actually), Vampira, Tor Johnson and Bela Lugosi in his legendary “postmortem” performance (with Ed’s chiropractor standing in for Bela after his death). This truly original movie, Ed Wood’s “Citizen Kane,” is a hymn to all those who have ever tried to create something intelligent and meaningful, only to fail miserably every step of the way.”

You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never, ever choose to be.

Sadly it’s crown has been stolen by Twilight and any of the 3 newer Star Wars movies.

    Still a classic of sorts.

    • LifeMi

The Star Wars prequels suck, but there’s far worse films out there; dare I mention Strawberry Estates?

      • Vanvance1

And off I go to google. If I actually end up watching this I might have to hunt you down with a pack of rabid dogs.

        • The Woman In Black

DON’T DO IT! You have been warned … now it’s on you.

          • Vanvance1

But IMDB said it’s about a haunted asylum. I love ghost films and I love films set in asylums. It’s like when they put Pinhead, Jason or even a Leprechaun in space… it’s so damn hard to resist!

          • The Woman In Black

You kids never learn! LOL Trust us – NOTHING happens in this film.

      • Uncle Creepy

No. Don’t do it. Don’t get me riled up.

        • LifeMi

Strawberry Estates will haunt us all for the rest of our lives, all thanks to you Creepy
          :(

          • Uncle Creepy

No way dude. I could NOT have been more vocal in my pleas for everyone to stay far fucking away from it. But Nooooooooo. Nobody listened!

          • LifeMi

That’s because we’re all horror fans. We can’t help but track down something like this to see for ourselves if it’s as bad as people say it is. Somewhere out there, Ron Bonk is laughing at our misery.

My eye is starting to twitch…

    • Uncle Creepy

Yeah kind of thought this one would get ya! LOL

      • kiddcapone

Yeah, who needs Raiders of the Lost Ark on Blu-Ray when you can witness all the cardboard sets, bad acting, and flubbed lines from Plan 9 from Outer Space in life-like HD. It’s a no brainer…

I’m sure Manos: The Hands of Fate or Slashers will probably be next.
