What’s the first thing that happens once the networks have announced their pilot picks? Casting news for said pilots of course! And today we have the first word on who’ll be appearing in writer Rockne O’Bannon’s “Cult” on The CW.
Per Deadline the lovely Jessica Lucas has been tapped as the lead in “Cult” from O’Bannon (“Farscape”, “V”), Warner Bros. TV, and Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage’s Fake Empire. The potential series centers on Skye (Lucas), an inquisitive, young female production assistant on a wildly popular television show called “Cult” who, after a rash of disappearances and a likely murder, joins a journalist blogger in investigating the rabid fans of the series who might be re-creating crimes seen on the program in real life.
“Cult” marks Lucas’ return to The CW, where she co-starred on “Melrose Place” and recurred on “90210”. Her feature credits include Cloverfield.
Look for more on “Cult” and all the other pilots floating around out there soon!
