Derek Mears is probably my favorite Jason now too. Definitely the best part of the new Friday.

The blonde that got hung on the antlers was pretty hot. She had uh..."perfect nipple placement"...wtf?

Derek was the only good thing about this movie, and he didn't even have that much to do.

Is Jason really a pot farmer? Really?

Well, to answer your question (as it looks like you haven't seen it yet), I'd say "no", but a huge crop of wild marijuana plays an important role and Jason seemed to spend a lot of time around it, so maybe it IS his stash.

No, He's not the pot was explained in the beginning, and even if he was that would have been the least of my problems with this very mediocre movie.

I have a feeling your rant will be epic Creepy. But I still think it was a good movie.

Now if it had been Satanic pot (brought over by a sect of black magicians to the area centuries ago) that was revealed to be the source of Jason's invulnerability to death, that would've been a great plot point. Of course, burning the weed would temporarily "kill" Jason but since the only thing that makes it grow is freshly spilled blood...all it takes is one clumsy drunken camper and BAM! Instant sequel!

"Don't Fear the Reefer, man!" *CHOK* *spurt spurt*

My girlfriend and I saw it, and we liked it. But I still can't wait to hear Uncle Creepy rip it a new one on the next Dinner for Fiends. I'm sure fourth walls shall be broken.

I'm conflicted. I don't expect much from remakes ( so I was pleasantly surprised with MBV 3D). They are what they are and if nothing else, they may get the younguns to check out the classics. Pretty much all the big franchises became kind of ludicrous over time, so it doesn't make a lot of sense to just do a new installment with the next sequence number. Maybe the best thing to do is pick up after the last good installment and go from there, which I suppose this one tried to do.

I didn't detest this movie, which may be because it was free with the coupon from His Name was Jason. However, I sure don't plan on paying to see it again. I prefer the original and now I can have it uncut( which may not have happened if not for the remake).

That being said, what was up with the fucking tunnels?

I picked up "His Name was Jason" today at Walmart for $9.95, and it comes with a $10 off coupon to see the new Friday the 13th.

Dunno if all Walmarts are doing that but ya can't beat that deal.

WTF? The coupon in our DVD was only good for $5.00 off. I feel cheated even just paying $5.00 to get in. Definitely have my first candidate for Worst of 2009.

I would rush out and buy this DVD right now, except that you mentioned it was at Wallmart... I always feel dirty when I leave one of those stores - oh, and lucky to still be alive!

Well there's Amazon. They have it for $13.99(use EVILshop). Though from WIB's reply it sounds like different value coupons were included in different packages. Maybe its a regional thing. Gonna have to get it if you wanna see Uncle Creepy discuss the joys of homo erotic shaving in the movies. Neflix doesn't offer the second disc for some reason.

Amazon is probably best if you don't want to wallow in the Walfilth. I find that you see the absolute worst in people at Walmart, Golden Corral, and church. It's like a train wreck I can't help but watch. Well, all except the church part, tends to get in the way of my Sunday hangover.

Well, I was hoping for a review from Creepy, since he's the one person on here I usually agree with the most on films, but I'll be seeing this tomorrow night and will post my thoughts afterwards. I know you're all on pins and needles....

Being the "Official 'His Name was Jason' Celebrity", Creepy does seem like the logical choice doesn't he?

Netflix didn't have the bonus material disc to rent so I'm gonna have to buy it to see Uncle Creepy's extended interviews and feed my hetero man crush.

I haven't seen it yet either, but judging from what I read in both reviews I think my opinion is likely to fall somewhere between the two.

This is great Uncle Creepy. I'm glad to see divergent opinions supported on something like this. Since I can't sneak out and leave my 8 year old unattended for a midnight showing, I've opted to ditch work tomorrow instead. What a responsible parent I am.

    Here's hoping for the best.
