Early Art for West’s Doghouse!

First art for Jake West's Doghouse! With Toronto’s Midnight Madness in full swing (Diary of the Dead debuted there last night, sigh), festival organizers have decide to weed out the middle man and just kick out with their own blog to detail all the cool shit that’s going down.

For example, yesterday Jake West (Razor Blade Smile, Evil Aliens) threw the first concept art for his next film, Doghouse at them, one of the pieces you can see on your right. Doghouse, in case you forgot since we first told you about it (“West in the Doghouse” – July 2007), the film is about a group of guys who head out for the weekend to take their friend’s mind off his divorce. When they hit their destination they discover that all the women in the village have been infected by an airborne virus that makes them hate, and eat, men.

Yeah, that’s always a mood-killer. ”I think this will be my best movie to date.” West told the TIFF folks, ”It certainly has one of the best original scripts I’ve read in years, written by cult comic book artist and Dogwitch creator Dan Schaffer.”

Sound pretty badass to me. West says they’re in the very early stages of pre-production now, but hopes to have it done in time for Cannes next year. We’ll keep you up to date on Doghouse between now and then, so stick around!
