Adam Steigert of DefTone Pictures Studios dropped us a line with some early details, artwork, and a teaser trailer for Ombis, an alien invasion themed horror/sci-fi film he’s co-directing with Mark Mendola. Check it out!
From the Press Release:
Currently in production in Buffalo, New York, is the most ambitious project in DefTone’s history, Ombis, a 1950’s style alien invasion film where a life form crash lands in a village named Metzburgh. It begins to infect the townsfolk, making them host to the supernatural virus. Unlike traditional zombie films where the infected are out for blood, the Ombis virus only lives to replicate itself. The virus is not the only thing that has invaded this small community. A creature known only as the “Nemesis” has also arrived in an attempt to contain the alien plague which originated from its home planet. It is up to a small group of uninfected survivors to fight the invasion and make it out alive.
Casting is complete for the epic film, which features Richard Satterwhite (Sheriff Thomas Brackett), Sara Manzella (Lucy), Jason John Beebe (Mark), and Alexander Sloan McBryde (Mr. Gray). This is the first film Adam Steigert, founder of DefTone Pictures Studios, is co-directing with Mark Mendola. Special make-up effects artists Jill Jovic and Phill Beith have also signed on to the project, which marks their feature film debut.
Steigert believes that the diversity of this film project will continue to expand DefTone’s mission: “We at DefTone strive to create epic tales embracing visionary new ideas. Buffalo is filled with hidden talent which we are destined to explore.”
