The latest twist on the horrific events surrounding the group of hungry folks known as the Donner Party, entitled Donner Pass, is getting set to come home in a couple of weeks, and we’ve got all the info you need right here. Eat up!
From the Press Release
Freestyle Digital Media (FDM) has set January 17, 2012, for the US release of DONNER PASS, Arroyo Filmworks’ dark thriller that will debut on DVD, Digital Download, and On Demand. The film was directed by multi-hyphenate Elise Robertson and produced by Mouncey Ferguson with the screenplay by Scott Adams. DONNER PASS will be available via FDM’s distribution partners that include the iTunes store, Amazon, Vudu, Dish Networks, Blockbuster.com, Sony PSN, Redbox, and most cable VOD services.
DONNER PASS tells the story of settlers in 1846 that became snowbound in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and had to resort to cannibalism to survive. Some 150 years later, a group of teens on a snowboard trip discover that the curse of the Donner Party still haunts those mountains when members of their group start turning up not only dead, but half-eaten. Nothing – and no one – is what it seems in this provocative dark thriller. And history doesn’t always stay in the past.
FDM recently acquired DONNER PASS in November during the American Film Market, where the company also picked-up the award-winning horror comedy DEADHEADS starring Michael McKiddy and Ross Kidder.
In addition, beginning January 11, 2012, a special five-day series of event screenings will take place on Constellation, the leading innovator of virtual online movie theater experiences. Read on for the details.
