Joel Schumacher Out and Brad Anderson In for The Hive

It’s a new year and time to shake things up with regard to Troika Pictures’ upcoming The Hive. Joel Schumacher, who was originally attached to direct the suspense thriller, has now been replaced by Brad Anderson (Transsiberian, Vanishing on 7th Street).
Per Variety Rich D’Ovidio (Exit Wounds) wrote the script, which follows a 911 operator who must face her own fears in order to save a teenage girl from a serial killer. Halle Berry was attached to star before she dropped out due to personal scheduling issues, and now several top actresses have expressed interest in the part.
Michael Helfant and Robert Stein will produce for Troika Pictures, whose Bradley Gallo will co-produce. Jeff Graup will also produce while Phil Cohen and William Gallo will exec produce. Sony Pictures Acquisitions is the domestic distributor, and Sierra/Affinity is handling foreign sales.
Production is slated for late spring.
