Two More Names Being Floated for Possible Roles in Oldboy Remake: Clive Owen and Mia WasikowskaWe’ve had some pretty mixed emotions about the upcoming Spike Lee-helmed remake of the Korean revenge classic Oldboy, but with the recent news of two more names that are circling roles in the production, we have to admit our interest level is rising. Read on for the details!

Twitch is reporting that Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland, The Kids Are All Right) has been offered the role of Marie, the female lead of the gritty thriller, which was previously turned down by Rooney Mara.

If she accepts, Wasikowska will be playing opposite Josh Brolin in the lead as a man imprisoned against his will and with no explanation for years before he is released and sets out to find and take revenge on his captor.

The villain’s role, originally offered to Colin Firth, is now apparently Clive Owen’s (pictured above; Intruders, Children of Men) to accept or decline. Considering he and Lee have history (they worked together on The Inside Man), we’d say he’s a shoo-in.

If these two newest additions to the cast do come to fruition, we’ll be there opening day for sure! Keep it here for more as it comes!
