Paramount Ensures that Orphan Scribe Will Be the Last Man Standing

Everyone needs a hero. Especially when aliens from another planet set out to destroy the human race. Gotta hate when that happens. Take heart, though. Mankind? We are tough as nails. There’s little doubt that a human will be the Last Man Standing.

We’ll see if that rings true as according to Variety Paramount has tapped Orphan scribe David Leslie Johnson to adapt sci-fi actioner Last Man Standing, Daniel LuVisi’s graphic novel that sold out at San Diego Comic-Con in two hours this summer.

Recently published by Kevin Eastman’s Heavy Metal label, the story, set 600 years in the future, follows an invincible soldier created to help Earth win a war against Mars. After becoming a celebrity hero, he’s framed for a heinous crime by a terrorist organization. After a nine-year prison sentence, he escapes and sets out to even the score.
