“American Horror Story” on FX
Last night’s episode of “American Horror Story” definitely ranks up among our favorites of the season so far – finally Ben came off as a good guy (or as good as a guy like him can be), and again we say that if Jessica Lange doesn’t win an Emmy, there is truly no justice in this world. How about a look at next week’s Episode 1.10, “Smoldering Children” directed by Michael Lehmann (Heathers), to see if the goodness continues?
Episode 1.10 “Smoldering Children” (12/7/11 Air Date):
Violet learns about the rules of the house. The truth about Larry’s condition is explained. Constance is interrogated by the police.
“American Horror Story”, co-created by former “Nip/Tuck” executive producers and current “Glee” co-creators/executive producers Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, revolves around The Harmons, a family of three who move from Boston to Los Angeles as a means to reconcile past anguish. The all star cast features Dylan McDermott (“The Practice”) as “Ben Harmon,” a psychiatrist; Connie Britton (“Friday Night Lights”) as “Vivien Harmon,” Ben’s wife; Taissa Farmiga as “Violet,” the Harmons’ teenage daughter; Jessica Lange (Tootsie, Blue Sky, Grey Gardens) in her first-ever regular series TV role as “Constance,” the Harmons’ neighbor; Evan Peters (“One Tree Hill”) plays “Tate Langdon,” one of Ben’s patients; and Denis O’Hare (“The Good Wife”) as “Larry Harvey.”
Guest stars for the series include Frances Conroy (“Six Feet Under”) as the Harmons’ housekeeper; Alexandra Breckenridge (Dirt) as the Harmons’ housekeeper; Jamie Brewer as Constance’s daughter; Zachary Quinto; Teddy Sears; Matt Ross and Lily Rabe as Charles and Nora Montgomery; Morris Chestnut; Eric Stonestreet; Sarah Paulson; Kate Mara; Joshua Malina; and Mena Suvari, who appears as The Black Dahlia.
