Finally! The Rock is going to fight monsters! At least he will in the film adaptation of the comic book miniseries Monster Hunter’s Survival Guide. Dwayne Johnson fighting monsters? I’m already prepared to camp out in front of the theater.

I’m not familiar with the comic book on which the movie is being based, and I honestly have to wonder why since it sounds like something right up my alley.

Monsters surround us. They’re everywhere; on TV, in movies… they haunt our nightmares. But are they real? Do vampires, werewolves, and zombies really exist? And if so, how can we survive against them? At last here is the comprehensive guide every Monster Hunter must have! Whether you’re a weekend bigfoot hunter or a hardcore vampire slayer, you simply can’t afford not to own this book. The Monster Hunters’ Survival Guide will not only instruct you on how to be the first to catch one of these mysterious Cryptids – but it’s the only way you’ll be able to survive the experience!

Deadline broke the news that John Paul Russ’ Zenoscope comic book will be turned into a feature film starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson by Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter producer Simon Kinberg through his Genre Films label.

Which monster The Rock will lay the smackdown on in the film is what I’m most looking forward to finding out. I really hope it turns out to be Sasquatch. I would pay top dollar to watch him make a mold of a bigfoot track, shine it up real nice, turn that sumbitch sideways, and stick it straight up Sasquatch’s candy ass.
