Back in 1977 a young Robert Englund co-starred in Tobe Hooper’s Eaten Alive about a backwoods maniac feeding people to a crocodile. A quarter century later, Englund will be back contending with crocodiles in Lake Placid: The Final Chapter. And a former “Angel” star will be joining him.
Just a few weeks back we reported that Lake Placid 3 star Yancy Butler had already signed on for Lake Placid 4, which was gearing up to begin shooting in Bulgaria. Entertainment Weekly’s Inside TV just broke the news that the original Freddy Krueger has signed on to star in Lake Placid: The Final Chapter, following in the footsteps of Betty White, Cloris Leachman, and Colin Ferguson, who have each portrayed members of the Bickerman family in the preceding three Lake Placid films.
Robert Englund will portray Jim Bickerman, a poacher caught up in the latest man-eating crocodile rampage at this lake people really should have learned to stay the hell away from by now.
EW also reports that Elisabeth Rohm of “Angel” and “Law and Order” fame will also be starring in the film that has just begun shooting.
Look for what is being touted as the ultimate conclusion to the Lake Placid film series sometime on Syfy in 2012.
