If you live anywhere near Warwick, Warwickshire (natch!) and harbour a penchant for all things literary in the world of horror, then you’ll be interested to hear of Halloween Horror Night, an evening of terror taking place this October 31st at the Warwick Arts Centre courtesy of the folks behind Read Horror – the UK’s voice of horror literature – and featuring some very respected guest novelists. Read on for more!

From Read Horror:
Hosted by Read Horror Editor Michael Wilson, Halloween Horror Night promises to be an exciting evening with three of the best horror authors in the UK today.

First up is Gary McMahon, author of The Concrete Grove trilogy and the man behind the Thomas Usher series (most recently Dead Bad Things). He will be reading a classic horror story to leave fans entertained and terrified.

Following on from Gary is Gollancz’s David Moody. Not only has he written one of the most successful zombie series in years – Autumn – but he’s also written the terrifying apocalyptic Hater trilogy. The concluding chapter Them or Us will hit stores next month.

Last, but by no means least, is Adam Nevill. He is fast establishing himself as the most exciting author in supernatural horror today. Having enjoyed success with Banquet for the Damned, Apartment 16 and the Blair Witch meets Texas Chainsaw Massacre great outdoors horror, The Ritual, he is set to release Last Days next year.

Further personalities from the world of UK horror fiction are also expected to be on hand during this celebration of shocking scribes across the genre so this event also proves an invaluable chance for budding authors to grill some of the pros and do some mucho useful networking.

Tickets for the event cost £8 (£6 for concessions) and can be purchased at the Warwick Arts Centre website, and if you get in quick, you could also win a couple of tickets courtesy of Read Horror themselves.

Check it out, and get those creative juices flowing!
