Chatting with Paranormal Activity filmmaker Oren Peli on the carpet, he remained tight-lipped as always regarding his current and future projects, although he did comment on the positive buzz surrounding next week’s release of Paranormal Activity 3, on which he co-produces.

“I am excited,” said Peli as the paparazzi snapped away. “We’ve been getting really terrific reviews, and the fans that have seen the movie at screenings are really responding well to it so we are all very excited, and we think that anyone that liked the first or the second one will really love the third one.”

Following the screening the party moved over to Twist at the Hollywood Renaissance Hotel, where drinks flowed (courtesy of sponsors Stella Artois, Sino Tequila, Shock Top, and FEARnet), attendees gathered up gift bags, and festival head Rachel Belofsky stated of this year’s Screamfest LA line-up, “We have films from all around the globe playing this year, and the state of independent horror is apparently alive and well!”
