Scream 4 Deleted Scene Offers a Nice Nod to the First

Post Thumb:

After sitting down with the Blu-ray of Scream 4 (Blu-ray/DVD review here), one thing became quickly apparent … there were a lot of good moments that just didn’t make it into the final cut. Case in point: the following deleted scene.

Maybe a fan cut will surface one day (you cats are surprisingly handy), but for now the flick is available on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital Download. Check it out!

From the Press Release:
Anchor Bay Entertainment and Dimension Films’ Blu-ray™/DVD Combo Pack and DVD release of the latest installment in the acclaimed horror franchise, SCREAM 4, headed to retail on October 4, 2011. Directed by the incomparable Wes Craven, SCREAM 4 features an ensemble cast that includes the film’s original cast plus new stars – David Arquette, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Anthony Anderson, Adam Brody, Rory Culkin, Marielle Jaffe, Mary McDonnell, Marley Shelton, Nico Tortorella, Lucy Hale, Shenae Grimes, Aimee Teegarden, and Brittany Robertson. SCREAM 4 is available for an SRP of $39.99 for the Blu-ray™/DVD Combo Pack (which includes a Blu-ray™, a DVD, and a code for the Digital eCopy) and $29.98 for the standard definition DVD.

Directed by suspense master and director of the first trilogy, Wes Craven, SCREAM 4 is the newest installment in the acclaimed franchise that ushered in a new wave of horror in the 1990s. In SCREAM 4 Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), now the author of a self-help book, returns home to Woodsboro on the last stop of her book tour. There she reconnects with Sheriff Dewey (David Arquette) and Gale (Courteney Cox), who are now married, as well as her cousin Jill (Emma Roberts). Unfortunately Sidney’s appearance also brings about the return of Ghost Face, putting Sidney, Gale, and Dewey, along with Jill, her friends (Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin) and the whole town of Woodsboro in danger.

I liked this deleted scene but I think it should stay that way if anything they left out the paid a great homage to Scream 1 was the crim Scene of Marni and that other chick “the dumb blonde with the big tits” that Deleted scene I think would have been better then this one to be in the movie if they where going to keep any of the deleted stuff

But of course as what always happens “Creative Difrances” where found and things that was wanted to be kept where forced to be taken out which is a shame becasue a lot of the deleted scenes would have been nice in the film sure a little pointless but some of them would have been nice…

I actually mostly enjoyed all the comentaries on both the actual film and the deleted scene’s heres to hoping if Scream 5 is made they do it right and make it like it should be

How exactly is that a good moment that didn’t deserve to be cut? It’s just talking about characters from other BETTER horror films while trying to establish the “new rules” loosely followed in this one. That 90 pound nerd saying about the killings being a movie “it will someday” basically give away the ending. Which Wes continues the tradition of having the killers not look anything like the actual killers after the big “reveal”…There’s no way either one of the kids who are Ghostface be that tall or be strong enough to pull off any of the shit in the movie just cause they have a costume on.

Wes Craven had a chance to give the horror genre a shot in the arm like the original Scream did but instead just rehashed the same old worn out territory. This is barely better than My Soul to Take. The kills sucked and the ending was uber-lame. I was bored out of my mind.
