WTF? Rights to sell The Victim, written, directed by and starring Michael Biehn (The Terminator, The Abyss, Aliens), were purchased by WTFilms. OMG! ROTFL!
This is the directorial debut for sci-fi stud Biehn, who made a big name for himself teaming with legendary director James Cameron early in his career. Biehn stars as a recluse living in the woods who is thrust into the middle of a murder plot.
Seeing all the hats he wore in the production of The Victim, Biehn obviously has put his heart and soul into the film. We’ve got a lot of faith in him. Let’s see if he delivers! Having debuted at Scarefest in Lexington, Kentucky, earlier this month, The Victim goes international in early October for the Sitges Film Festival.
From the Press Release
Paris-based WTF has acquired all international sales rights to THE VICTIM, the grindhouse thriller which marks the feature directorial debut of renowned genre star Michael Biehn. Biehn also wrote, produced and stars alongside Jennifer Blanc-Biehn, Danielle Harris, Ryan Honey and Denny Kirkwood. The film was produced by Blanc/Bien Productions (Jennifer Blanc-Biehn, Lorna Paul and Travis Romero) and The Mud Show (Ryan Honey, Brock Morse and Morgan Johnson).
The thriller tells a story of a wayward girl (Blanc-Biehn) who turns to a rugged loner (Biehn) for help after witnessing a terrible crime involving her close friend Mary (Harris). Honey and Kirkwood are corrupt cops who are trying to silence Annie once and for all.
THE VICTIM is the inaugural acquisition of WTF, which was recently launched by former TF1 International senior sales executive Dimitri Stephanides. Kevin Iwashina and Christine D’Souza of Preferred Content represented the filmmakers and negotiated the deal with Stephanides.
THE VICTIM will make its international premiere at the Sitges Film Festival in Spain on 7 and 8 October in a double feature with Hobo With a Shotgun.
