The official soundtrack for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 hits store shelves (and online outlets) on November 8th, and today the first single – Bruno Mars’ “It Will Rain” – dropped, offering some doo-wop sadness in place of the franchise’s typical indie angst.

You can check out the new song below the full track listing and CD cover art. “After seeing the movie, I thought that it would be a perfect fit,” Mars said told MTV. “The ‘Twilight’ movies for me [are] a love story. But it’s a dark love story,” he added, “and I think the best way to describe the song is: It’s the darker side of love. I think that pretty much sums it up.

I'll see you on the other side...

  • The Buz

The only thing these movies verge on is the look of a trashy romance novel. Seriously every poster that comes out for these things looks more and more like an erotic book cover.

While I don’t hate these movies as much as some (blame that on desensitization caused by the females in my life), let’s be honest here… these movies are about as far from horror as one can possibly get…

    • The Woman In Black

They fall on the fringes of the genre I’d say, especially these last two parts with the birth of a hybrid, and if anything, maybe they encourage someone who’s interested in horror to seek out a bit more of the hard core stuff.

You’re right, and I recant: they do fall on the fringes of the genre. Here’s an interview with Bill Condon where he calls the latest one an “intense horror movie”; perhaps that’s an exaggeration, but it definitely intrigues me!
