The Shining Being Screened with its Original Ending in Rochester, New YorkOh, how we wish we were based out of Rochester, New York. Why? Because the Stanley Kubrick terror-driven tour de force The Shining will be playing up on the big screen like you’ve never seen it before.

The event is happening Saturday night, October 22nd, 2011, at 8:00 pm at the historic Dryden Theatre, which is located at the George Eastman House in Rochester, New York (900 East Avenue). Hit the below link for tickets and details.

An unstable writer (Jack Nicholson) takes a winter caretaking job at a snowed-in mountain lodge, quickly succumbs to “cabin fever” — or is it something far worse? — and terrorizes his hapless wife (Shelley Duvall) and creepy, psychic son (Danny Lloyd). A brilliant study of domestic abuse and possession — demonic, creative, and familial — this is Kubrick’s horror masterpiece as you’ve never seen it, complete with a chilling coda cut from the original release.
