Ready for a quick look at the latest indie scarefest coming our way from overseas, Haunted Poland? Come on! You know your curiosity is going to get the better of you so just give in!
Directed by Pau Masó and starring Ewelina Lukaszewska, Pau Masó and Irene González, Haunted Poland is in the midst of gearing up for release.
“Haunted Poland was meant to be an ‘experimental’ project, says director Masó. “The crew and I (the three actors), traveled to Poland seeking for haunted places. We’ve been getting really bad feedback from people who don’t understand the nature of this film. This is not a Hollywood film with a budget of 20 million dollars. This film was completely shot on a consumer camera, with an estimate budget of $,1000. The film is an interesting tape of a couple who travels to Poland, and that is literally what it is, of course, with a very interesting ending. We really hope people enjoy the film for what it is.”
Told cinéma vérité-style (of course), Haunted Poland depicts the contents of recorded tape filmed by a couple who visited Poland to meet and visit family. However, our duo soon find themselves disturbed by all manner of strange phenomena upon visiting the girl’s hometown where she once played with a Ouija board.
