Okay, kids, I’ll admit that I don’t know a whole lot about the upcoming FX show “American Horror Story”, but I did see Dread Central’s post about receiving an artifact in the mail that provides clues as to what kind of genre goodies the new series would be cooking up for us fans this fall and registered per the instructions. Today a mysterious package arrived at my front door via FedEx.

As I opened up the box, all I saw at first was an envelope with my name written on it that contained instructions on how to register the enclosed artifact on the website You’re Going to Die in There. As I start digging through the box, my hand suddenly touched some weird wisps of hair and something that felt like rib bones. I’m not ashamed to admit that I actually screamed like a little girl as soon as I touched it and threw everything back in the box until I could regain my composure. But once I finally got ahold of myself, I pulled out the little fella you see below, whom I’m now calling my “Demon Bunny.” A blood-stained carcass of a clearly psychotic rabbit with strands of dingy hair rolling down his back … let’s just say this is one of the creepiest deliveries I’ve ever received in my life.

Well played, FX. Well played.

I don’t know the full scope of what his involvement is within the world of “American Horror Story”, but I’m definitely already on board to see what kind of twisted stuff the new series has in store for us when it premieres next month. Demon Bunny and I are anxiously awaiting the show’s first episode on October 5th.

“American Horror Story”, co-created by former “Nip/Tuck” executive producers and current “Glee” co-creators/executive producers Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, revolves around the Harmons, a family of three who move from Boston to Los Angeles as a means to reconcile past anguish. The all star cast features Dylan McDermott (“The Practice”) as “Ben Harmon,” a psychiatrist; Connie Britton (“Friday Night Lights”) as “Vivien Harmon,” Ben’s wife; Taissa Farmiga as “Violet,” the Harmons’ teenage daughter; Jessica Lange (Tootsie, Blue Sky, Grey Gardens) in her first-ever regular series TV role as “Constance,” the Harmons’ neighbor; Evan Peters (“One Tree Hill”) plays “Tate Langdon,” one of Ben’s patients; and Denis O’Hare (“The Good Wife”) as “Larry Harvey.” Guest stars for the series include Frances Conroy (“Six Feet Under”) as the Harmons’ housekeeper; Alexandra Breckenridge (“True Blood”) also as the Harmons’ housekeeper; and Jamie Brewer as Constance’s daughter.

“American Horror Story” is set to premiere on October 5th on FX and will run Wednesdays at 10 PM ET/PT. In the meantime visit the show’s Facebook page and tweet about the show using hashtag #AHSFX, along with checking out “American Horror Story” on FX, where you’ll find some exclusive extras you won’t see anywhere else!
