Second Annual Zombie Crawl in Saugerties, NY to Assist Hurricane Irene Victims

Heads up, Upstate New York residents!!! Dread Central has been covering some fund-raising zombie walks from coast to coast. We’ve recently gotten wind of a new one to help Upstate New York victims of Hurricane Irene.
Captain Cruella Moxham of the Carnivorous Cadavers is proud to announce Village Invasion II: Crawl of the Dead, the Second Annual Saugerties, New York Zombie Crawl. (You guys remember Saugerties, NY, right? Home of Woodstock ’94? Remember? No? Well, anyway…)
Captain Cruella has announced that the crawl will take place on October 22 at 7pm. And trust Doctor Gash, I know this chick. If she says the shit kicks off at 7 pm you best have your ass there at 7 pm!
Last year over 1,000 zombies showed up to invade the town. This year, nearly double that amount is expected. Additionally, Cruella has taken it upon herself to use Twitter to convince Jimmy Fallon (Saugerties native) to attend the zombie crawl. And knowing what a cool SOB Fallon is, he might just show up.

Village Invasion II is a town-wide take over of Saugerties with a zombie crawl through streets kicking off the night’s festivities. Horror clips and movies projected onto the buildings will enhance the horrific environment. Village shops, pubs and restaurants participating will have killer specials that fit the overall theme of the night.
Inquiring Minds Bookstore on the corners of Main and Partition Streets will be hosting tarot card readers and other ghastly goodies well in to the night. Dave’s Coffee House and Wine Shop will host a black lite spectacular with musical madmen, Voodelic. The Dutch Ale House and Main Street Restaurant will be getting into the action with frightening festive drink and dinner specials. Partition Street Wine shop doling out samples of the ever-appropriate cocktail, Zombie. Sugartown Boutique is down to do something sinfully delightful, and the list goes on and on!
Costume contest to be held in auditorium above the fire house on Partition Street at 10:30. As always, amazing prizes for best zombie couple, best celebrity zombie, and most gruesome zombie!
There will be donations accepted at most shops for disaster relief that has been ongoing due to Hurricane Irene. The Hudson Valley got hit incredibly hard, wiping entire towns off the mountainside. Toiletries, clean clothes, towels and other daily necessities are all needed.
