Hudson Horror Show
Never let it be said that Chris Alo, Ted Ledger and the rest of the crew over at the Hudson Horror Show rest on their laurels. Far from it. Already having a kick ass lineup of films slated for their fourth event, the boys decided to take it a step further and add a mystery sixth film to the day. Goddamn boys, how much horror can you expect to squeeze into one day? These guys might be approaching the all-time record.
Hudson Horror Show IV, fittingly entitled The December to Dismember, will be held in the Silver Cinema South Hills 8 in Poughkeepsie, NY on December 3. The day is absolutely packed with entertainment already, so where these guys think they’re going to squeeze in another film is beyond me.
Already on the bill are The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (And that’s the one and only original, granddaddy of them all. None of this remake/sequel nonsense at HHS4), in the spirit of the holidays Silent Night, Deadly Night (nothing like seeing a strung out Santa on a murder/rape spree to bring out the holiday cheer in us all), Lucio Fulci’s The Beyond, gritty revenge flick Rolling Thunder (forget about any upcoming remakes of violent 1971 films, this is the real deal!) and (wait for it) The Werewolf vs. Vampire Woman!
Honestly, if you’re going to add any more entertainment to this list you’re going to need to set up cots and provide provisions. It’ll look like a FEMA relief center in there if they keep these guests for much longer.
And you get all this for the extremely reasonable price of $26. Six movies (and classic shit, too. Again, no remakes/sequels here. And all original 35mm prints) for $26. Netflix would have a hard time beating that price.
Okay New Yorkers, visit the Hudson Horror Show website and pre-order your tickets now! It’s just a short ride from New York City and well worth the trip. The theater is a good size, but space is limited. Don’t miss out! You can thank me later.
