It’s been so very long since we spoke about the Guillermo del Toro produced remake of the Spanish chiller The Orphanage, we actually forgot about it. Well, here’s a reminder for us and you!
According to Bloody Disgusting New Line has had talks with Amy Adams to star in the film as “Laura”, a woman who takes over the orphanage where she was raised to open a home for disabled children. Then her young son begins to play with the same imaginary friend who terrorized her when she was a child. Adams is a three-time Academy Award nominee, having starred in Enchanted, Doubt and The Fighter. She will soon be seen in Man of Steel and The Muppets Movie. To be clear, talks have taken place, but that does NOT mean she is signed to star.
Larry Fessenden penned the screenplay with Sergio Sanchez.
New Line’s been developing The Orphanage since 2007.
