When the below clip from Butcher the Bakers was offered to us, I started watching it and thought to myself, “This is pretty horrible.” I’m not going to lie, I was ready to judge the proverbial book by its cover. But I continued watching it because I was curious to see what else the near three minute clip included. I’m actually pretty happy I stuck around because the painfully cringe-inducing dialogue quickly turned sharp, bitter, and rather violent, all in a manner that elicited a genuine guffaw.
The clip is the opening sequence to the film including the credits. In it, we see a group of young women having a sleepover party when one of them suggest they have a pillow fight. Cliché? Absolutely. But what they say next is when you realize the movie is going to be something a south of normal and north of depraved.
Synopsis:
Recently fired, a grim reaper terrorizes a small town, killing and collecting souls for a purpose only he knows. Sam and Martin, slackers who work at the local bakery, are hired by a mysterious stranger to stop him from killing again.
Written and directed by Tyler Amm, Butcher the Bakers stars Ryan Matthew Ziegler, Sean Walsh, Mike Behrens and Lisa Wojcik.
