Breaking: Mike Flanagan Will Direct Stephen King’s The Shining Sequel Doctor Sleep

It was a full two years ago that we let you guys know that Stephen King’s The Shining sequel Doctor Sleep was on it’s way to the big screen.
And today we have breaking news via Deadline that Hush and Gerald’s Game director Mike Flanagan will be taking on directing duties!
Flanagan will rewrite the script originally adapted by Akiva Goldsman. Flanagan’s producing partner Trevor Macy will produce along with Vertigo Entertainment’s Jon Berg, and Goldsman is executive producer.

Synopsis:
On highways across America, a tribe of people called The True Knot travel in search of sustenance. They look harmless—mostly old, lots of polyester, and married to their RVs. But as Dan Torrance knows, and tween Abra Stone learns, The True Knot are quasi-immortal, living off the “steam” that children with the “shining” produce when they are slowly tortured to death.
