Explore a Ravaged Hawaii in Supernatural RPG Nightmarchers

Hawaii is known for being one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, so it might be a little strange to see such an idyllic location transformed into a ravaged wasteland. Which is exactly what happens in developer Wyrmbyte’s upcoming game Nightmarchers, which is currently raising funds on the crowdfunding platform Fig.

In the world of Nightmarchers, a cataclysmic event known as the the ‘great thunder’ ravages the state of Hawaii, with splintered factions fighting for survival in the once paradisiacal location (yes, that is a real word). The old pig Kamapua also awakens from his long slumber and raises his armies in an attempt to retake the land he once ruled, so you’ll be fighting monsters in addition to psychos. Playing as a demigod named Kai, you’ll have the magical ability to transform into a variety of animals as you explore Hawaii, and will also need to interact with both survivors and ghostly spirits in order to compete your journey, in addition to using machine guns to shoot the shit out of your enemies. From what we’ve seen so far, it looks like Nightmarches will be somewhat similar to the core games in the Far Cry series, albeit with a much greater focus on supernatural elements.

Wyrmbyte have no current plans to bring Nightmarches to consoles, but the game will be released on PC sometime in the near future should the crowdfunding campaign be a success.
