Remember the good old days when a television adaptation of Joe Hill’s Locke & Key graphic novel was very much in the cards for Fox until they foolishly passed up on what could have been one hell of a property? No? Well here’s a trailer to depress you further.
The project hasn’t been confirmed dead by the network, as they could retool it for a later release or it very well could be picked up by another outlet. The news still stings though.
Miranda Otto, Sarah Bolger, Jesse McCartney, Ksenia Solo, and Skylar Gaertner were all set to star in the supernatural themed series.
Locke & Key revolves around Nina (Miranda Otto) and her three children, Tyler (Jesse McCartney), Kinsey (Sarah Bolger), and Bode (Skylar Gaertner), who survive an unspeakable horror and attempt to rebuild their lives at Keyhouse, their family home in Lovecraft, Massachusetts. It is a mysterious New England mansion with fantastic and transformative keys hidden inside its walls that are also being sought by a hate-filled and relentless creature with ties to the Locke family’s past who will stop at nothing to accomplish his sinister goals.
Josh Friedman (“Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”) wrote the pilot, which Mark Romanek was directing. Look for more soon!
