The September 15th season premiere of “The Vampire Diaries” is getting closer and closer, which means that of course The CW is starting to let loose with some promo materials. On tap for today is a batch of images from Episode 3.01, “The Birthday”, written by executive producers Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec.
An official synopsis for the ep, which is directed by John Behring, is coming later this week, but here’s what we do know. We’re moving ahead a few months to Elena (Nina Dobrev)’s 18th birthday. She’s still in Mystic Falls growing ever so closer to Damon (Ian Somerhalder) while Stefan (Paul Wesley) is on the road with big bad Klaus (Joseph Morgan), where they run into a werewolf named Ray (guest star David Gallagher).
We say this every year around this time, but if you’re not watching “The Vampire Diaries”, you’re seriously missing out on one of the best genre shows around. Give it a shot next month, and for more in the meantime visit the official “The Vampire Diaries” website.
