McGrath to Open Little’s Store

Funny that the latest issue of Rue Morgue has an article about reclusive horror author Bentley Little, and all of a sudden news crops up about a film adaptation of one of his books. Coincidence? Probably.
The Hollywood Reporter got word that Strike Entertainment brought Jenna McGrath on board to write an adaptation of Little’s book The Store (get it here!) about an evil corporation’s takeover of a small town. They were thinking of calling it Wal-Mart: The Movie but realized there might be legal implications to that.
McGrath is a recent UCLA grad and winner of the 2005 Screenwriter’s Showcase Award for a script called “Reverse Psychology” about a psychopath looking to ruin the cred of a school psychologist.
No word on a director, if one has been chosen, but I just have to say it’s about time someone got around to adapting the man’s work; you couldn’t ask for a more prolific, talented horror writer than Little, and I hope this is just one of many such announcements.
