For those who haven’t heard of them, Cadabra Records is a boutique record label that specializes in creating audio plays of fantastic horror stories. They did it with The Yellow Sign by Robert W. Chambers and have done stories from Bram Stoker and H.P. Lovecraft. Today we’re thrilled to help them announce their new project, which is a full cast audio play of M.R. James’ Casting the Runes. Below is an audio sample, which give you a taste of the magnificent scope of the production.

Starring David Warner (The Omen, Star Trek VI, In the Mouth of Madness), produced by Bleak December, and adapted by Anthony D.P. Mann, the limited edition vinyl will be released on January 26th with the first edition of 500 copies to be pressed on 150-gram colored vinyl and housed in a deluxe heavyweight gatefold tip-on jacket with newly commissioned art by Adam Burke.

Speaking about lending his voice to Casting the Runes, Warner states, “I was brought up only with radio, so it means so much to me to be able to imagine for myself what is being presented. And we can all imagine differently what is being presented to us via audio and radio, and that’s what the magic of it is – our own imaginations are able to take over. As an actor (and a voice actor, sometimes), I’m so glad to be able to contribute to peoples’ visual take on whatever it is we’re presenting. I just think it’s so invaluable, you know – the images and dreams in the mind.

You can follow Cadabra through their official website, Twitter, and Instagram. To order any of their records, head over to their online store.
