David Harbour Says Neil Marshall’s Hellboy Reboot Is a Dark and Scary Monster Movie

Last week we let you guys know that Neil Marshall’s upcoming R-rated reboot of Hellboy was set to hit theaters January 11, 2019.

Today we have an update on the film via new Hellboy himself David Harbour (“Stranger Things”) who recently spoke with Variety about what we can expect from the new film.

“These movies have been of a certain brand,” Harbour said. “With ‘Deadpool’ and ‘Logan,’ they are trying to do different things. So we are trying to do our own brand of that. I was really excited by that concept — to make a real  monster movie that’s dark and scary and about the end of the world.”

Sounds good to me! After all the film is called Hellboy and it is about a giant godd*mn demon who punches other demons off the planet with a right hand made of 100% pure doom. This isn’t for the kiddies. Bring on the hard R rating.

What do you think of the Hellboy reboot being a dark and scary monster movie? Sounds about right to me. Let us know what you think below!

Directed by Neil Marshall, Hellboy is based on a script by Andrew Cosby, Christopher Golden, and Mike Mignola, who is the creator of the Hellboy universe. The latest draft was done by Aron Coleite (“Heroes,” “Star Trek: Discovery”). Larry Gordon and Lloyd Levin are producing along with Mike Richardson of Dark Horse Entertainment. Millennium Films and Lionsgate are making the film.

Ian McShane portrays Professor Broom, Daniel Dae Kim stars as Major Ben Daimio, and Milla Jovovich co-stars as the villainess of the film, a medieval sorceress who seeks to destroy humankind.

Hellboy hits theaters January 11th, 2019.
