We’ve been cautiously optimistic about the upcoming remake of Pet Sematary ever since it was announced that Starry Eyes directors Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch would be at the helm, and now we know when we’ll learn whether said optimism was accurate or not…

Per THR (who apparently can’t take the time to make sure they spelled the title right), Paramount’s reboot will arrive on April 19, 2019. It’s being written by Jeff Buhler and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian, and Steven Schneider.

The adaptation of Stephen King’s 1983 novel (which already got a pretty well received film version back in 1989 that was written by King and directed by Mary Lambert) will tell the story of Louis Creed, who tries to bring back his dead son by placing him to rest in an Indian burial ground.

Stay tuned for more info soon!
