A while back now we got word that there Universal has a reboot of Masters of the Universe aka He-Man in the works with David S. Goyer penning the script.

Well, it turns out that Goyer must have done such a killer job on the screenplay that the powers that be have promoted him to the film’s director.

Yes, Master of the Universe will be hitting us from the director of Blade: Trinity.

Make of that what you will.

Aside from directing the third entry in the Blade series, Goyer is most well-known for writing the entire Blade trilogy, along with  Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Night trilogy.

I’m not too sure that Goyer is the right choice for the He-Man movie. His style seems to lean more towards the “gritty reboot” variety. But, hell, I could be totally wrong on this and he could switch up his game with amazing results. Time will tell.

What do you think of Goyer directing the Masters of the Universe reboot? Let us know below!

Masters of the Universe (1987) Synopsis:

When the evil Skeletor (Frank Langella) finds a mysterious power called the Cosmic Key, he becomes nearly invincible. However, courageous warrior He-Man (Dolph Lundgren) locates inventor Gwildor (Billy Barty), who created the Key and has another version of it. During a battle, one of the Keys is transported to Earth, where it is found by teenagers Julie (Courteney Cox) and Kevin (Robert Duncan McNeill). Now both He-Man and Skeletor’s forces arrive on Earth searching for the potent weapon.
