Like many of the rest of the world, all of us here at Dread Central don’t consider it Christmas without, at the very least, one viewing of director Joe Dante’s horror-comedy Gremlins.

Speaking of the creature classic, today we have the awesome news that the film will be returning to theaters this December via a very special event which is being called “Gremlins: Rule Breakers.”

This event will include an interview with director Joe Dante and a badass limited edition T-shirt designed by Rhys Cooper available exclusively with tickets at participating theaters.

This cinematic event will be hitting theaters across the country just in time for the holidays and you can check if the film will be playing at a theater near you right HERE.

I just checked the listing myself and sure enough, the film will be playing at my local theaters so you’d better believe I’m going to be there with bells on. Or, you know, a backpack with a stuffed Gizmo in it! Either one is a possibility.

Personally, I have never seen Gremlins on the big screen. It’s one of my absolute favorite movies and I have made it a point to see all my favorites in theaters when I can. Most have been checked off the list at this point. Now I just need a Gremlins/Gremlins 2: The New Batch double screening. With Hulk Hogan interlude!

Gremlins: Rule Breakers hits select theaters Friday, December 8th!

Synopsis:

A gadget salesman is looking for a special gift for his son and finds one at a store in Chinatown. The shopkeeper is reluctant to sell him the “mogwai” but sells it to him with the warning to never expose him to bright light, water, or to feed him after midnight. All of this happens and the result is a gang of gremlins that decide to tear up the town on Christmas Eve.
