Ireland’s Dundrum to Host The Science of Horror Movies Event Tonight

To all our Irish readers, tonight will see a rather fascinating event at the Movies@Dundrum theater in Dublin. At 7pm local time, TV3’s Gordon Hayden will be hosting a live event titled The Science of Horror Movies, which will see him and a panel of film critics, film historians, and cognitive psychologists exploring the science behind what makes us afraid.

Topics include various horror tropes and why they are so heavily relied upon, how scares are crafted by filmmakers, and the science of psychology that makes some kinds of horror so effective.
