Family Friendly Horror Game Sleep Tight Heading To Switch

Published

on

Developer We Are Fuzzy has released a new trailer for Sleep Tight, a family-friendly horror game in the vein of Among the Sleep. The trailer was later re-uploaded to Nintendo’s official YouTube channel.

Set primarily in a kid’s bedroom, Sleep Tight is a twin-stick arcade-style shooter that has you using water balloons, dart gatling guns, and other toys to fight back against hoards of things that go bump in the night. During the day, you’ll also be able to build forts in your room to act as barriers against the night creatures.

Sleep Tight is being developed by a team who have worked on major titles including Far Cry 5, Destiny, League of Legends, Titanfall, and the Rainbow 6 series. Creative director Maxx Burman’s multimedia credits include Iron Man 3, Call of Duty, and “Game of Thrones”, whilst Dylan Ekren, who worked on the Disney movies Wreck It Ralph and Zootopia, is also involved.

Sleep Tight (official website) is set to be released on the Nintendo Switch and on PC early next year.

From the Press Release:
Sleep Tight, an adrenaline pumping arcade-style, twin-stick shooter with base-building elements, launches for Nintendo Switch and PC in Q1 2018.

Sleep Tight will be the debut project from We Are Fuzzy, a veteran team of AAA game developers and big-budget film VFX artists. The team is led by Maxx Burman, whose credits include Far Cry, League of Legends, Westworld, and Titanfall. Disney character artists, including Dylan Ekren, who worked on Wreck It Ralph and Zootopia, and Ubisoft designer Oscar Mar, whose resume cites the Far Cry and Rainbow 6 franchises.

Sleep Tight draws from shared childhood experiences to deliver a fast-paced twin-stick shooter that marries adrenaline-pumping action with a charming world wrapped in blankets of nostalgia.

Build pillow forts during the day to prepare for hordes of monsters who emerge after dark. Fight back against their relentless onslaught with dart Gatling guns, water balloon launchers, remote controlled gun turrets, and other toys. Throughout these frenetic nocturnal battles, players will collect stars from fallen enemies to upgrade their skills, buy power-ups, and unlock new weapons.

“Since I was a kid, I always wanted to make games. After 10 years of working on other people’s projects, it was time to make my own, and I wanted to go back to that feeling of pure play,” said Maxx Burman, co-founder and creative director at We Are Fuzzy. “I feel fortunate to work with such talented artists to bring this Pixar-esque world to life. I think it’s an experience that will appeal to the young at heart, no matter their age.”

Guillermo del Toro’s Animated Series Trollhunters 2 Now Streaming on Netflix

Published

Netflix’s “Trollhunters” isn’t a series I’ve had the chance to check out for myself. Nothing against the kid’s horror series, I just haven’t had the time.

That said I’ve heard good word-of-mouth regarding the series and being that it comes from the mind of Guillermo del Toro it can’t be a total waste of time. Especially with a cast featuring Ron Perlman, Steven Yeun, and Anton Yelchin.

If you’re like me and haven’t given the show a go yet, then make sure to check out the following promos below and then make your mind up from there. You have to hand it to the series as it looks utterly stunning. Hope the actual content holds up. Only one way to find out!

“Trollhunters” is created and executive produced by Guillermo del Toro. Executive producers include Marc Guggenheim, Rodrigo Blaas, Christina Steinberg, and Chad Hammes. Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman are co-executive producers.

Voice talent for includes Kelsey Grammer (“The Simpsons,” X-Men: The Last Stand), Ron Perlman (Hellboy), Steven Yeun (“The Walking Dead”), and Anton Yelchin (Fright Night).

“Trollhunters Part 2” is now streaming on Netflix.

Synopsis:

When ordinary teenager Jim Lake, Jr., stumbles upon a mystical amulet on his way to school one morning, he inadvertently discovers an extraordinary secret civilization of mighty trolls beneath his small town of Arcadia.
