Apes will rise on August 5th as Rise of the Planet of the Apes opens wide in US theaters. You, dear readers, can now experience what a few Dread Central staffers are calling “Magnificent” and “The best Planet of the Apes film since the original“.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes stars Andy Serkis as “Caesar” with James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Brian Cox, Tom Felton, and David Oyelowo rounding up the cast. Rupert Wyatt is directing from a screenplay by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, who are also producing. Peter Chernin and Dylan Clark are producing for Chernin Entertainment under its pact with Fox.
