Paramount has been talking about a remake of Stephen King’s Pet Sematary for a long while now, and like it or not, it seems to be creeping forward. However, at least this time they’re talking to a very competent director.
According to Twitch Film Alexandre Aja (Haute Tension, The Hills Have Eyes, Piranha 3D) is in talks with Paramount to take the helm of the nasty little tale that’s scared the shit out of both readers of the book and fans of the film.
Given that Aja isn’t at all afraid to get as nasty as possible, we’d love to see what he’d do with the source material. One thing’s for sure – we’ll bet dollars to donuts that when Gage Creed comes back, he’ll be a lot more worse for the wear than the then still cute Miko Hughes.
The studio secured Matthew Greenburg, writer of the horror feature 1408, almost a year ago. He is now set to deliver his script for the redux.
