One of the most influential slashers of all time, Wes Craven’s Scream is also one of the most talked about entries in the horror genre. A brilliant blend of horror, satire, and wickedly dark humor, the film has earned its place as one of the most recognizable horror films in the genre’s history.
In a new video, YouTube channel Demented Pictures has tackled the topic of bringing you everything you ever wanted to know about Scream, delving into interesting facts and trivia, some dark legacies that sprung from the film, difficulties with the MPAA, and more.
Now, the video notes that it began production prior to the events surrounding Harvey Weinstein and the multiple accusations of sexual assault, harassment, and rape. As such, it doesn’t delve into that topic at all. We want to make it clear that women must be able to feel safe and heard in the industry.
