Halloween is almost upon us and for some people that means you need a good stiff drink after putting in a ton of energy, time, and investment into making this season as spooky as possible. That being said, just because you want to put your feet up doesn’t mean that you aren’t interested in keeping up appearances! If that’s the case, then YouTube channel Distinguished Spirits have raised a cocktail from the dead that may be of interest to you: the Oaxacan Dead tiki drink!

Inspired by AMC’s “The Walking Dead”, the cocktail uses smoky Mezcal, Apricot Liqueur, Lime Juice, Falernum, Peychaud’s Bitters, Orange Bitters and a Mint Sprig for garnish. The channel explains that the beverage was created by Ethan Armstrong of Bostons’s Deep Ellum in 2013. While their menu has a drink of the same name on their menu, this is the original version, so don’t go in there expecting to get what you see in the below video.

On top of showing you how to make the Oaxacan Dead cocktail, Distinguished Spirits also goes into the history of the Zombie tiki cocktail itself. So, if you’re looking to not only have a tasty beverage but also learn a thing or two, this is the video, and channel, for ya!

Please drink responsibly and enjoy!
